S.R. Flour<\/p>\n<p>2 eggs<\/p>\n<p>100g (4oz.) butter softened<\/p>\n<p>Tsp. vanilla extract<\/p>\n<p>A little milk if necessary<\/p>\n<p><strong><em>What to do to make your Baked Alaska<\/em><\/strong><\/p>\n<p>Cream the butter and caster sugar together in a food mixer.\u00a0 Gradually add the flour, the extract and the eggs and beat to a smooth consistency.\u00a0 Base line a 20cm\/ 8\u201d sandwich tin with a removable base and fill with the sponge mixture.<\/p>\n<p><strong>AGA<\/strong> Cooking<\/p>\n<p><strong><u>2 Oven AGA<\/u><\/strong><\/p>\n<p>Bake on the grid shelf on the floor of the <strong>roasting oven<\/strong> with the cold sheet on the second set of runners for about 25 minutes (check it at 20 minutes)<\/p>\n<p><strong>AGA Baking Oven<\/strong><\/p>\n<p>Bake on the Grid shelf on the floor of the Baking Oven for about 25 minutes (check it at 20 minutes)<\/p>\n<p><strong>Conventional oven \u2013 180C\/160C fan\/gas 4<\/strong><\/p>\n<p><em>ElectricKit Aga &#8211; turn your temperature to 180 degrees, bake on the second set of runners down from the top with the cold plain shelf beneath your bake<\/em><\/p>\n<p><strong>For the meringue you will need:<\/strong><\/p>\n<p>4 egg whites<\/p>\n<p>9 oz caster sugar<\/p>\n<p>A little malt vinegar<\/p>\n<p>And you will need to be in a good mood to decorate with flair.<\/p>\n<p>Firstly, separate the egg white from the egg yolk and place the egg whites into the bowl of your food mixer. Secondly, beat at a fairly high speed until the meringue becomes fluffy and white. Additionally, start to add the caster sugar and beat until the meringue is fairly stiff.\u00a0 Add a tiny \u00bd tsp. of malt vinegar for a slightly creamed colouring if desired.<\/p>\n<p>&nbsp;<\/p>\n<p><strong>Ice Cream<\/strong><\/p>\n<p>Start by putting the vanilla ice cream to room temperature until soft serve consistency.\u00a0 Scoop into the cling film lined pudding basin until half full and then add a layer of cherry or strawberry jam. Next, fill the basin with the rest of the ice cream and smooth over to the top of the basin.\u00a0 Finally, cover the top with more cling film and place in the freezer for about 2 hours or overnight if you can.\u00a0 The cling film will enable you to easily take out the pudding shaped ice cream to place onto the sponge disc.\u00a0 Place the ice cream onto the disc, and cover the whole shape with thick meringue.\u00a0 Now, you need to place into a hot oven for about 5 \u2013 8 minutes to brown and then slice and serve immediately.\u00a0 <strong>THIS IS DELICIOUS AND YOU HAVE TO EAT IT ALL!<\/strong><\/p>\n<p><strong>This will keep quite well in the freezer if you are not eating it straight
