{"id":775,"date":"2020-09-16T13:22:53","date_gmt":"2020-09-16T13:22:53","guid":{"rendered":"https:\/\/westbrookcookers.com\/?p=775"},"modified":"2022-04-01T09:40:32","modified_gmt":"2022-04-01T09:40:32","slug":"fruit-crumble","status":"publish","type":"post","link":"https:\/\/westbrookcookers.com\/?p=775","title":{"rendered":"fruit crumble"},"content":{"rendered":"<p><!--more--><\/p>\n<p><strong><em>On your electricKit Aga\u00a0<\/em><\/strong><\/p>\n<p>&nbsp;<\/p>\n<p><a href=\"https:\/\/westbrookcookers.com\/electric-conversions\/\">https:\/\/westbrookcookers.com\/electric-conversions\/<\/a><\/p>\n<p>Fruit Crumble<\/p>\n<p>For the crumble topping you will need<\/p>\n<p>225g\/8oz plain flour<\/p>\n<p>115g\/4oz butter (cold and cut into cubes)<\/p>\n<p>115g\/4oz Demerara sugar<\/p>\n<p>60g\/2oz rolled oats<\/p>\n<p>\u00bd tsp cinnamon<\/p>\n<p><strong>Filling<\/strong><\/p>\n<p>I used\u2026.<\/p>\n<p>285g\/ 10oz Damsons (these I had picked in September and were nestled longing to be used in my freezer\u2026and I didn\u2019t bother to faff around removing stones\u2026prize to whoever has the most piled up at the end of pud)<\/p>\n<p>4 large eating apples (cored and sliced with the skin on\u2026again no faffing)<\/p>\n<p>100g\/3 \u00bd 0z caster sugar<\/p>\n<p><em><strong>This is what you do<\/strong><\/em><\/p>\n<ul>\n<li>If you are not using an Aga then preheat your oven to 220C\/400F\/gas 6<\/li>\n<li>Place the frozen damsons in a bowl at the back of the Aga to defrost<\/li>\n<li>With your finger tips rub the butter into the flour, cinnamon and sugar until it resembles fine bread crumbs<\/li>\n<li>Stir in the oats<\/li>\n<li>In a large crumble dish place the fruit and sprinkle the sugar over the top<\/li>\n<li>Cover with the crumble mix<\/li>\n<li>Place crumble on a grid shelf on the floor of the Roasting oven and cook for about 30 minutes\u2026 or until topping is browning and the fruit is bubbling through<\/li>\n<\/ul>\n<p>Feel free to substitute any fruit. Pear and ginger works really well as does apple and blackberry\u2026just pile the fruit into the crumble dish.
