healthy eating &#8211; cooked on an Electrickit Aga<\/strong><\/p>\n<p>&nbsp;<\/p>\n<p><a href=\"https:\/\/westbrookcookers.com\/electric-conversions\/#controllable-13-amp\">https:\/\/westbrookcookers.com\/electric-conversions\/#controllable-13-amp<\/a><\/p>\n<p><strong>The story<\/strong><\/p>\n<p>For those people (myself included) who are managing their diet for health, after years of committing sugar and fat\u00a0 abuse \u2013 here is a bit of a life saver, cooked of course, in our renovated Electrikit Aga<\/p>\n<p>&nbsp;<\/p>\n<p><em><strong>HERE IS WHAT YOU NEED<\/strong><\/em><\/p>\n<p>Set your Electrikit Aga to 170 degrees<\/p>\n<ul>\n<li>Line a 20cm Cake tin, prepare a round to cover the top to protect your bake<\/li>\n<li>75g sultanas<\/li>\n<li>100g of any dried fruit \u2013 apricots, cranberries, prunes, raisins<\/li>\n<li>25g candied fruit<\/li>\n<li>100ml boiling water for soaking<\/li>\n<li>1 medium banana<\/li>\n<li>2 eggs beaten<\/li>\n<li>75ml rapeseed oil<\/li>\n<li>1 medium carrot, courgette and apple, finely grated<\/li>\n<li>150g wholemeal flour<\/li>\n<li>1tsp baking powder<\/li>\n<li>3tsp mixed spice<\/li>\n<li>Glace cherries for decorating<\/li>\n<li>Almonds for decorating<\/li>\n<\/ul>\n<p>&nbsp;<\/p>\n<p><strong>Baking time is 1hour 30 minutes<\/strong><\/p>\n<p><strong>Preheat your Electrikit Aga cooker to 170 degrees<\/strong><\/p>\n<p>Add the boiling water to all of your mixed dried fruit and set aside<\/p>\n<p>Mix together the mashed banana, eggs and oil in a large bowl<\/p>\n<p>Following on, add the grated carrot, courgette and apple<\/p>\n<p>Now it is time to add the flour, baking powder and mixed spice<\/p>\n<p>In addition, mix in the dried fruit<\/p>\n<p>Finally, pour the mixture into the prepared cake tin.\u00a0 Decorate the top with Glace cherries and almonds<\/p>\n<p><strong><em>Here is what you do<\/em><\/strong><\/p>\n<p>Bake on the middle set of runners at 170 degrees for about one hour 30 minutes (keep a watchful eye)<\/p>\n<p>Cover the top of your cake with baking parchment to protect it from drying<\/p>\n<p>After one hour, place a cold plain shelf beneath your cake<\/p>\n<p>20 minutes before end of cooking time remove the top cover from the cake<\/p>\n<p>Remove cake from the oven, test with a skewer and leave to cool.<\/p>\n<p><em>Sprinkle with a small amount of icing sugar to serve (not too much of a sin and it is Christmas)<\/em><\/p>\n","protected":false},"excerpt":{"rendered":"Christmas Cake - healthy eating - cooked on an Electrickit Aga &nbsp;
