{"id":1269,"date":"2020-11-05T11:35:34","date_gmt":"2020-11-05T11:35:34","guid":{"rendered":"https:\/\/westbrookcookers.com\/?p=1269"},"modified":"2022-03-16T16:54:36","modified_gmt":"2022-03-16T16:54:36","slug":"salmon-en-croute-elelctrickit-aga","status":"publish","type":"post","link":"https:\/\/westbrookcookers.com\/?p=1269","title":{"rendered":"Salmon En Croute"},"content":{"rendered":"<p><!--more--><\/p>\n<p><strong>\u00a0Electrikit conversions &#8211; switch to 180 degrees\u00a0<a href=\"https:\/\/westbrookcookers.com\/electric-conversions\/\">https:\/\/westbrookcookers.com\/electric-conversions\/<\/a><\/strong><\/p>\n<p>&nbsp;<\/p>\n<p>Salmon En Croute<!--more--><\/p>\n<p><strong>Spinach filling<\/strong><\/p>\n<p>70 grams (1\/3 cup) unsalted butter<br \/>\n2 Shallots chopped<br \/>\n100 grams (1 cup) mushrooms<br \/>\n5 garlic cloves<br \/>\n220 grams Fresh Spinach<br \/>\n1 tsp black pepper<br \/>\nsprinkle Salt<br \/>\n70 grams (3\/4 cup) cooked rice<br \/>\n200 grams (4oz) Cream cheese<br \/>\n10 grams fresh dill chopped<\/p>\n<p><strong>Salmon and Pastry<\/strong><br \/>\n700 g (1 \u00bd lb) half salmon side skin removed<br \/>\n2 packs ready rolled puff pastry<br \/>\n1 egg whisked<\/p>\n<p>Instructions<br \/>\nCook the spinach filling first<br \/>\nIn a pan melt the butter over medium heat. Add the Mushrooms, Shallots and garlic, fry until shallots are softened.<br \/>\nAdd spinach, black pepper &amp; salt, cook until spinach has wilted.<br \/>\nSimilarly, add the cream cheese, rice and chopped dill stir together, remove from the heat and place to one side.<\/p>\n<p><strong>Salmon en croute<\/strong><br \/>\n<strong>Set your digital switch in your Electrickit Aga to 180 degrees, use the\u00a0 roasting oven on the second set of runners down from the top. If using a conventional oven, Preheat the oven 180\u00b0c \/360 F gas mark 4.\u00a0 Bake time is circa 30 -40 minutes<\/strong><\/p>\n<p>Lay Bake O Glide liner on a baking tray. Place 1 pack of puff pastry onto the liner (use ready rolled puff pastry)<br \/>\nPlace the salmon side in the centre of the puff pastry sheet, spread the spinach filling on top of the salmon fillet.<br \/>\nInsert the second sheet of puff pastry sheet on top of the salmon and spinach side.\u00a0 Press the pastry down, you may have to tuck the corner away to make it look more like a parcel.<br \/>\nSimilarly, make sure you cut away any excess pastry and fold the edges of the first sheet of pastry up to meet the second.<br \/>\nUsing a fork (also some beaten egg) to seal the two sheets together all around the edges.<br \/>\nFurthermore, with the excess pastry, cut off you can make decorations for the parcel<br \/>\nAfter that, chose a sharp knife to score the top of the parcel in a criss-cross pattern, remember to\u00a0 cover all over, and try not to cut into deep.<\/p>\n<p>Add your decorations coat all over the pastry with egg and bake in the oven for 30 &#8211; 40\u00a0 mins on the second set of runners down from the top.<\/p>\n<p><strong>CHECKING\u00a0<\/strong><\/p>\n<p><strong>Check the base of your Salmon En Croute to check that the floor of your Electrickit oven is not cooking the base too quickly.\u00a0 If so, place the cold shelf beneath your bake for the final 10-15 mins of cooking<\/strong><\/p>\n","protected":false},"excerpt":{"rendered":"\u00a0Electrikit conversions - switch to 180 degrees\u00a0https:\/\/westbrookcookers.com\/electric-conversions\/ &nbsp;
