{"id":1107,"date":"2020-10-03T10:13:02","date_gmt":"2020-10-03T10:13:02","guid":{"rendered":"https:\/\/westbrookcookers.com\/?p=1107"},"modified":"2022-03-21T16:02:53","modified_gmt":"2022-03-21T16:02:53","slug":"celebration-cake-electrickit-aga","status":"publish","type":"post","link":"https:\/\/westbrookcookers.com\/?p=1107","title":{"rendered":"Celebration Cake"},"content":{"rendered":"<p><!--more--><\/p>\n<p><strong>A Celebration Cake recipe for converted ElectricKit Aga cookers<\/strong><\/p>\n<p>&nbsp;<\/p>\n<p><a href=\"https:\/\/westbrookcookers.com\/electric-conversions\/#controllable-13-amp\">https:\/\/westbrookcookers.com\/electric-conversions\/#controllable-13-amp<\/a><\/p>\n<p><strong>Celebration Cake<\/strong><\/p>\n<p><strong>Use this proportion of ingredients \u2013 double or treble up depending how many layers you wish to construct.<\/strong><\/p>\n<p><strong>YOU WILL NEED:-<\/strong><\/p>\n<p><strong>4oz Self Raising flour (or plain flour use 1tsp baking powder with plain flour)<\/strong><\/p>\n<p><strong>4oz Caster Sugar<\/strong><\/p>\n<p><strong>4 eggs<\/strong><\/p>\n<p><strong>WHAT TO DO:-<\/strong><\/p>\n<p>Whisk the eggs and sugar to double in size (or trebles- the more volume the better)<\/p>\n<p>Place the flour in a sieve and shake onto the mixture from a height.\u00a0 This will add as much air as possible to the mixture. Cut the flour into the mixture with a metal spoon gently using a figure 8.<\/p>\n<p>When the flour has been mixed cautiously into the eggs and sugar, place the mixture into the cake tin to the top rim. You will find this will achieve a thick cake which can be layered when the mixture is cooked.\u00a0 When the cake is cooked, it will slightly leave the sides of the tin.<\/p>\n<p>Now you need to create layers.\u00a0 Use diminishing sizes of sponge tins with removable bases.\u00a0 Base line the tins and grease the sides with a little oil.\u00a0 Make as many layers as you wish and slice them thinly, packing them together with cream mixed with white chocolate.\u00a0 The cake looks sensational when it is constructed, and really, it couldn\u2019t be easier once you have created the sponges.<\/p>\n<p><strong>For ElectricKit converted Aga cookers &#8211; Set your temperature at 180 degrees and Bake the sponge on the second set of runners down from the top.\u00a0 Remember the hottest part of your roasting oven is on the floor of your roasting oven. This is where the heating element is.\u00a0 Half way through baking,(after 10 minutes) protect the base of your sponges by placing the cold shelf beneath your sponges to prevent overcooking of the base.\u00a0 Keep checking your sponges, they should be cooked in 20 minutes.<\/strong><\/p>\n<p>I used a 26cm spring form cake tin<\/p>\n<p>Following on\u00a0 I used a 23cm spring form cake tin<\/p>\n<p>Additionally I used <!--more--> a 20cm spring form cake tin<\/p>\n<p>I sliced the sponges into halves very carefully.\u00a0 I started to construct with the whipped cream mixed with melted white chocolate, which makes the whole cake really special to taste.\u00a0 I bought raspberries, strawberries, blue berries and cherries and added fruit to the middle of each layer, spreading out to the sides.<\/p>\n<p>&nbsp;<\/p>\n<p>You will need a lot of double cream.\u00a0 Whip the cream and when it is thick enough add melted white chocolate to the mixture before you construct the cake.\u00a0 Decorate with flowers and fruit to achieve a stunning celebration cake.<\/p>\n","protected":false},"excerpt":{"rendered":"A Celebration Cake recipe for converted ElectricKit Aga cookers &nbsp;
